Blursy edits your screenshots locally on your device and has no server. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your data.
When you click the Blursy toolbar icon, the browser grants Blursy temporary access to the tab you clicked it on, and Blursy captures a screenshot of that tab. That is the only moment Blursy can see anything. The screenshot is opened in a local editor page inside your browser, where all blurring, redacting, cropping, and annotating happens on your device. While an editor tab is open, the capture is held in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device; it is replaced by the next capture.
If you use the Pro full-page capture feature, Blursy additionally scrolls the page you chose to capture so it can photograph each section. It reads no page content while doing so.
If you upgrade to Blursy Pro, payment is processed by ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com) and Stripe. Blursy checks your license status with ExtensionPay; this check includes a random extension-generated identifier and no image or personal data. See ExtensionPay's privacy policy at extensionpay.com/privacy for how they handle payment information.
Screenshots you save go to your own downloads folder or clipboard and are yours. Uninstalling the extension permanently deletes all locally stored extension data.
